I would go thru, and check all of my backlinks, and make sure all those sites are still up. Then I would check the pr of those sites, to see if there where any significant changes from the time you acquired the link, to the time you noticed the drop in pr. Then I would make sure none of the sites that link to you (or sites you link to) are not being penalized by Google, because that can trickle down to your site also. Last but not least, I would make sure that all of your link partners sites are still indexed by Google.
This is just a short list of things, I would do. One last thing, its dirty but possible. Make sure none of the sites you exchanged links with, went back and added the rel="nofollow" tag on your link. That would messed up, but you never know.
