I have noticed an interesting thing that after intensive submitting website to web link directories Google ranking positions are often rapidly dropping down and return back later! Usually website has even better Google ranking results after a month. I watched this process many times in my practice. Do you know how can this be explained?

Google REALLY doesn't care if you waste your time submitting to one, ten or a thousand directories.

All the process "knows" is that there are some new links to be analysed for a page, and the new data means position "X" temporarily, when the data is analysed it means position "Y".

Rankings fluctuate all day every day.

Why would Google like "intensive" directory submissions? They don't indicate anything, except that somebody has way too much time to throw away? Certainly they don't indicate any type of quality, and as such, shouldn't be rewarded.

If you consider that most directories do not accept your link immediately especially if you are using the free option, I tend to go for a large number of submissions a day, obviously varying my title a little

Different directories will approve your link on different days so even if you submit to 100 directories today you do not get 100 backlinks today. you may get a hand ful next wekk and then another couple.

So intensive directory submission does not necessary a sudden appearance of many links

Yes. As I've learned from my experiences on some forums and talk to other professionals, "every technique has it's own part on off-page optimization" and directory submission is one of the techniques to consider.

Creating these kind of backlinks are always inviting problem. Main reason is people start link building with very fast pace and as a result google penalise their sites and blogs.

simply quality directories becoming lesser and spamming reasons I guess! maybe that's why google doesn't like intensive submission to directories.

Sure, but only for the entertainment value - since that's the only value there is in free for all directories. But if you have lots and lots of time and nothing to do with it, there are worse things you could be doing.

Hm, from my observation I can also tell you, that it helps. Maybe, It depends on what directory You're submiting your page - if It's spammy or very well moderated ...

Anything in excess is bad. Just do things in moderation from now on and see if this suggestion worked for you.
