Which one is best for getting a ranking for a competive keyword.

Blogger-squidoo-hubpages-wordpress-propeller.

And the techniques that was used to get the top ten listing in
google, was it, social bookmarking, submitting articles rss etc.

Sincerly, it is the way you organize your blog that give you more good positions in google, not blog module. Anyway, blogger and wordpress are the best structures.

You could have the best tool in the world, if no one is interested in your blog, it won't make a difference.

I do agree in this. But if you see the point on the other side, I'ts not about the blogs, it's about how you optimize your blog. LOL

Here are some good list free blogs sites lists where you can create free blog these comes in ranking if you write here in good articles.

whichever site you use if you will have a not so nice content, you would probably not get a nice ranking in Google.

Getting top 10 SERPs position in Google depends on a lot of factors

But generally blogger blogs do okay

With wordpress you need to be selective about which template you use and maybe get the all in one SEO plug in

Squidoo used to be pretty hot but not sure these days

But you also need to pay attention to the SEO on your page.

Little things like keyword in title and format

I think WordPress is definitely your best bet. Like Nice said, you need to watch out for the template, as some of them are definitely now optimized for search engines. The SEO pluggin is quite useful to edit your keywords, description, title, etc for each page.

I've tried them all and each one is easy to use but I saw some good results in HubPages. Maybe because I had been using it longer. One of the hubs turned up on top of the PR1, and I haven't done any social bookmarking. I just provided rich details and lots of information, helpful images, and related videos. I also filled almost all relevant modules. So maybe this is the secret route to top ten
