Hi all,

I have a business website in a competitive field that organically strong and performs well for a number of keywords - mostly number 1. On the local business search my efforts to improve things have gone in reverse and it now appears on page 6 with lots of companies that are all miles away. For all other domains I look after, they all work great, it's just my own.

I don't expect miracles, but would like to stop moving backwards! Locality wise, the business address is right bang in the centre of the city, the address is on every page, a Google map is embedded in the contact page, the listing has 4 reviews and the website is listed in lots of local directories.

My domain is a .com, with the region set with Google webmaster tools. The data-centre for my host is in the UK.

Has anyone else had similar problems? Any advice on things I can try to would be great.

For a search of web design canterbury, it ranks number 1 organically in Google and on "more results near canterbury, kent" it is on page 6.

It would be better if you had your dmoz listing into this category:
http://www.dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/..._and_Internet/

rather than your current: http://www.dmoz.org/Regional/Europe/...s_and_Economy/

Try to include "United Kingdom" into your sites footer where you put your address.
I assume you added this map 20-30 days ago, so give it a little time.
You have a great site, I don't see what could be a problem.
