When google assesses your page rank does it take links in other search engines in to account or only the links that are in google.

For example.

In google I only have 5 backlinks.

But...

In Yahoo I have 1300 backlinks - would google take these links in to consideration?

Backlinks shown in Google (link:yoursitename.com) are not real data shown to you.

Ignore the link: search it hasn't worked for years!

AND counting links is the SECOND most useless thing you could do to benefit your website.

But google consider "Dofollow" link and Yahoo consider "dofollow" & "nofollow" so its different about back link in google and also yahoo......

if you want to know how many links are really pointing to your site, you should check it with Google's Webmasters tools.

but as the others said before, counting links is useless.

there is NO SUCH THING AS "dofollow"

so its different about back link in google and also yahoo

Well it would be. Yahoo! is Yahoo! and Google is Google. The only connection is they both have Internet search engines

I agree to this google does not include nofollow but yahoo still include

I don't think google consider whatever backlinks in yahoo unless they where also indexed by google.....and google does not show the exact number of backlinks of a certain site!

I too agree with the same. Google does't shows the full backlinks. Those backlinks should be appearing in google too.

What would the single most useless thing be in this case? I would put anything involving watching pagerank or link count to be equally useless.

So there's no way to check which links G likes?
