The contractor cut story made the rounds Monday after publication of a Silicon Valley WebGuild story with the alarming headline of "Google Layoffs - 10,000 Workers Affected." The 10,000 number and Google's efforts to reduce it, though, emerged in October in a San Jose Mercury News story, and it's not clear exactly how many will lose a job.

That's pretty huge number, do you think some of Google action might affect some good monetary services like Adwords and Adsense? I think not or not much...

I think they just want to get the permanent solution instead of on contract basis. There is no worry because I think they have calcluated their expense on hiring someone on contract basis or some fixed and permanent solutions for that.

They compare the expenditure and benefits and now took the decision.

That's quite huge number of work force that google will cut, I think that they already feel the global economic crisis! maybe they will sustain their services as before..
