Woo! Yay!

But now what??? How do I actually get people to SEARCH for my site?

Any advice?

I'm really new to this and have no clue how to advertise and I can't afford to pay others to do it for me.

Help, please!

you can't make people search for you - but if the site is relivant to what they are searching for.... then hey presto! Ok, so it's a little bit harder that that but you get my point...

Firstly, you should ignore most of the advice that will come as replies to your thread. Unfortunate, but true.

Let's back up a step. It's good that you made it into Google, like you said, and congratulations! (Someone had to say it. ) Now, the reason you want to be listed in search engines in the first place, is that your question actually has it backwards. Let's think about it for a minute.

If people were going to search for your site, they wouldn't be doing searches, they'd be typing your URL in directly, or using their bookmarks. What you want is for people who don't know about your site to find it through Google. They're looking for something you have on your site, but they're not actually looking for your site, they just happen to find it.

First check your content and target a keyword that has a high searches but low in competition. Optimize that keyword in your site (meaning add this to your content) and also use this keyword in building links (anchor text in your forum signature).

I'd suggest you to hire a company to market your website because you are novice (as you have mentioned in your thread.). As you are novice you will face lot's of problems and issues and you want someone to solve this. So, In my opinion you should find a seo company.

The only profit in optimizing website himself is that you will learn a lot and will get experience.

Best of Luck!!

Working on your websites content is the best place to start, then work on back links. This will get you started. Submitting articles is always a good idea too.

You have to optimize your site and probably rank your targeted keywords...

I’ve heard as well about free websites improving the ranking of my website in search engines, but I guess those websites asking for a fee to get a better ranking offer a best service then best results. Does anyone have some experience on this subject? Thanks. Will
