I recently upgraded my client system, and it now includes seo friendly URLs for knowledgebase etc ...

unforuntatly the templates dont use proper urls so it was messing up becaue of the folders

and it seems google came a while ago added all these wrong urls to its index list and im being flooded with emails because googles trying to index 404 pages

darn it.

If i only i could tell the googlebot to restart :L

Just re-make your sitemap and re-submit to google.

thats really a mess. no matter what I think its gonna take some time for Google get the right urls.

robots.txt disallow is your friend during production

i upgraded it and they didnt make the template files with absolute urls lol

only realised after i started getting the errors lol (my error script emails me when i get server errors lol)

i already have updated the code so it (should) be all okay now, but GoogleBot had/has already visited my site before i corrected the URLs collected all the links and bunged them on the IndexQue... i woke up to 100+ emails because google was accessing all the links ><

So far 4 of google's servers have indexed or at the least visited my website lol

I have a php file which handles server errors (error.php?type=404 / 400 / 500 etc)

which displays specific errors for common codes like 404 and a stanadard error for others

i also have it email me with the url and error code and stuff, so if i have a dead link or server errors idea is i know about them and can fix... also means i can see hack attempts and injections and stuff

But where google collected a load of duff links before i corrected them and now i have had 3-4 IPs owned by google which has been requesting the duff links for the 140ish articles in my knowledge base LOL

just resubmit your site to google. It will be back if you do a good SEO.

My knowledge base seems to be my best feature, cant wait to see what its like with decent urls lol
