I noticed a few weeks ago that my search results allow me to vote and post comments on results.
A little experimentation with a co-worker demonstrated that comment posted by one of us are available to the other.

Does this mean google is becoming a search based digg?

Interesting. Google has drastically more traffic than Digg, so it's fun to think of the data set they can build up from user comments. On the other hand, they also have far and away more URLs in their database - I wonder what will be the net effect?

the new voting system might not do the right thing Google trying to achieve. it could be easily biased.

Why would you even use digg, isn't it nofollow?

Some of us "use" Digg to actually read the stories and share stories with other people.. Not for link whoring..

Google results would become more biased unless it has its auto SERPs thing going.

Well, for a minute, try and imagine the amount of data Google currently has on us. They can likely draw up a coherent picture of our behavior WITHOUT a voting system in place. So, it might be logical to assume that the ALGO will begin changing to reflect average trends in search behavior. Then, to solidify that ALGO, Google can put a voting system in place as a secondary confirmation line for the content being ranked based on mass behavior trends.

Seems wild at first thought, but makes sense if you really ponder it a bit.
