Hosting a bunch of blogs

Hi,

I'm planing to open a lot of blogs and small sites and build a network which all targets to my main site.

Question: Does google see where are all they hosted, so I need to host them all on separate servers.

Thanks in advance.

Won't matter what you do, you'll leave a footprint which will at some point get them all "dinged".

So how are you planning to promote "a lot of blogs and small sites" then.

I'll not "promote" them.

I'll publish up to 10 unique articles to each of them and link each other. They all will link my mail site.

And if you don't promote them, how are they going to have any SE "value" to pass on to the "main site"?

It's BS! ignore it!

different IPs or not. when it looks like you're "gaming" the algo, YOU ARE HISTORY!

We'll get back to some common sense shortly.

I think that its not enough, just posting unique articles won't help your networks of blog to make it through the SERP unless you do some link building and promotion to it!

Where do you intend to provide these quality articles?

got a point..in order for your blog to contribute to the site you must somehow linkbuild it and add fresh content or update it...cause if you will leave just the articles there it will be useless...and i think even using different ip's still it will create a ring of blog pointing to the small site your're saying...G i think somehow will notice this...though you might try...experiment on it...

It will be a lot of work for you to update them all with a unique content. So I guess it won't work best that way. Yes, the different IP or server is a good idea. But it will be useless if it won't get any SE value by promotion.

I think you should focus on your main site content and try to get natural links to it. I'm pretty sure google knows about the strategy your talking about.

I think hosting a bunch of blogs/small sites is not a good idea. Hosting a bunch of blogs mean posting bunch of articles and it is a pain-sticking task. I suggest you to made ONE blog just to support your website. Focus on your blog's content and promote it just by doing some off-page optimization techniques.

I smell laziness here! Well doing network of blog is a good idea in doing promotion... If you are having hard time to do the task just be patient, think of the benefits you can get through that.

Yeah i agree, you could however have a few good related blogs that link to each other occasionally, which is okay with google, but they all need to have value in there own right to pass value which the search engines do not mind.. They would all have to be good sites..
Heaps of top bloggers do this like Problogger, Techcrunch, etc..

My vote is NO!!!!

By the way that you have talked about this issue, it sounds more like a link web , Commonly known as a Link Farm.

A not so safe move when it comes to the search engines. The search engines will be able to work out that... "HOLD ON!, all these sites are linked and then this sudden site is linked on all of the blogs"..... Hmmm. It is not worth it mate.

Just a piece of friendly advice, since i do not want to see your websites get banned or loosing ranks within the search engines.

Hosting them with one host is fine, providing that the whole idea is thought through better.

I would recommend reading more on Search Engine Optimization and how to keep your site updated regularly with good and fresh content and also doing some natural link building.

Is keeping 2 to 3 such blogs worth the while then (provided they are regularly updated)? I'm a little confused here.
