Anybody could buy with a credit card books of any topic related with academic topics in all areas. I want to learn about strategies for made my company popular in Google. Hi Felix. I suggest you read some of the Stickys at the top of this Forum to begin. SEO takes a while to learn and this is a great place to start. As you read through the posts you'll start to pick up some of the skills you need to promote your web site.

There are probably 100's of book sellers fighting to get to the top of google searches. It's going to be very difficult for you to even be in the top 50 pages so I would experiment with some "long tail keywords" and put them in your page titles.

You need to get backlinks to your site

Read plenty about seo before getting started. If you start your business before doing research, you might make some early mistakes that are tough to recover from. It probably will be a competitive niche though. So it might be too optimistic a project for someone without any seo experience. It would probably be worth hiring an seo expert to help you.

SEO will play an important role for your company to top on Google that why it is better to read all those link reference and articles!

Here I developed a marketing plan for you:

1. SEO

- On the main page in the tittle put your site name and along with some text with keywords, like "AcademicBooks - We are your source for all acedemic books"

- For each page other then the index page create a different title that relates to the content of that page example "AcademicBooks - News and Updates"

- Search google and search common keywords, and serch unique keywords that dont target a lot of online book stores or make like a sentence or something, something unique.

- Insert meta tags in all your pages, metatags for keywords, and for discription of your site.


Search Engine Submission:

- Submit your site to all seach engines that you can get your hands on, manually.

Web Directory Submission:

- Submit to free directories dont have to be manual submission. You dont have to pay but if you want you can pay it wont help you much though.

Article Directory Submission:

- Create 2-3 articles on your website, basically the discription fo your site, your site features, and compare them with other sites ho your site can be the next amazon or something like that write it from 3d person meaning "they" instead of "I". Include a link at the buttom to your site.

- Submit your article to article directories can be paid can be free. Search around for some good article directories sites that is known well, and submit to others as well.

Others:

- Google adwords avertisements pay per click can be setup to get started.

- Myspace/facebook buy adspace from people who have lots of friends.

- Create stickers at your local print store or at stickerjunkie.com and post those stickers in different colleges/universities.

- Create coupons and flood them around the net, so sites like fatwallet will link your site to your codes, and dont make too much of a discount make like 5% discount.

- Post your site on some college site forums, and education forums.

There are two options for you -

1) Do you want to do it yourself or
2) You want to hire someone to do this on your behalf.

If you want to choose first one than SEO is endless job and for this you should keep reading it and reading it. But yeah with that you will gain one more important knowledge. Just go to many forums and blogs related with SEO and you will know.

If you want to concentrate on your business than hire some reputed SEO and assign this task to him/her.

In any matter you will have to digg this field.
