i would appreciate feedback from anyone with experience using GA, specifically advanced segmentation..
I need to create a separate report (or reports) to report on traffic coming from a specific list of keywords. Basically I have 6 pages i am working on, each with its own 3-5 keywords, and I need to figure out the best way to report on the progress over time (increased organic search and shopping engine traffic for those keywords).
So far what i have tried is creating custom segments with the keywords for each page, but i'm not sure if it's necessary to have sooo many segments. here's an example of what i've done:
medium=organic
and
keyword=keyword1
or
keyword=keyword2
or
keyword=keyword3
and so on.. with a separate segment like:
medium=shoppingengine
and
keyword=keyword1
or
keyword=keyword2
or
keyword=keyword3
and so on..
however, since with this setup, i'd have 2 segments for each keyword set (one set per page, 6 pages, so 12 segments) this is prob overkill, and i am looking for suggestions on how to best condense and report on this data.
i would also appreciate insight on other approaches to doing this, i'm pretty new to Analytics and want to use it to its max potential in tracking the progress of SEO efforts.
