There's no reason they should rank any higher.. The phrase search engine appears no where on the home page and no one links to them with the anchor text search engine, they tend to say 'google'..

Exactly. Also, they say they can't move a page manually.

Google news ranks high for news, though (after CNN from my location). I agree with all of the above points.

very interesting that the top search engine doesn't rank for the term "search engine". Why is the moderator acting so unprofessional? Would expect more than cocky comments.

Sigh - to think that Google should rank #1 for the phrase search engine simply shows how little many people understand about how search engines rank. There is nothing interesting about it at all..

Probably the best Search Engine in the world! And maybe in a few months time they won't be on the 3rd page.
