MCPD - microsoft something something something?
yep. certified professional developer.
Personally I very firmly look down on microsoft and personally I feel that any web developer who doesn't really have a proper linux background is already on bad footing. People with microsoft qualifications to me are even worse because as well as not knowing the right stuff they know the wrong stuff (and it shows - I mean true developers are keen on doing it themselves, design, structure - so what if you put a team on it... but you just "keep an eye").
Again, I'm not cussing or having a slanging match, I'm a pro developer, self taught, with over a decade experience and with some very nifty online assets. I'm saying that I think if you have all this talent you are TOTALLY wasting your ability - you should learn how to use a PROPER COMPUTER, moreover - microsoft is fine, but don't pretend you're a techie. Some of us are REAL techies. As for the illiteracy comment - I am not wrong to label the majority of indian graduates who post items on the internet or use the english speaking internet commercially for other reasons, as ILLITERATE - they spell things badly, get grammar wrong and are also very irritating in their approach to MY LANGUAGE (english). I don't speak urdu or hindi if it's going to come out wrong - I don't speak it at all. I just understand and listen and when I am sure I am literate in hindi I'll talk it. How dare people in india take a quarter the money I deserve for doing my job, or my peers in marketing jobs on the uk web, and do it so badly. I have every right to label them illiterate.
As for you - you made a spelling mistake when telling me off for telling off illiteracy. You HAVE to laugh. Laugh at yourself, dammit. If you have no sense of humour, then i'm sorry you will NOT last in this profession no matter how long you've been here - you've probably become more up your own behind by the year!
I wonder why you were asking what you were asking? I mean, I'm giving you honest responses from someone with just as much of myself in the water as you, I know quite a lot more than you - about technology, about making money out of it. Sure I COULD learn all your tricks too, but to me they have always been immoral. Thus my reply is bound to be wordy. Worst of all, this is OUR business you are scarring. Those of us who are good techies, who work hard to do things right, who accept poverty whilst we're waiting for a good result rather than "being tempted into using blackhat" for a quick buck in the morning.
But anyway. MCPD... I had to add my two cents there. People calling themselves webmasters and developers and programmers and online business builders but who in fact have MCPD qualifications and other pure unadulterated rubbish are NOT techies. Just office workers with spreadsheet training. I bet you use a lot of spreadsheets eh? Typical of a microsoft qualified person that you shamelessly outsource spamming to india, probably your development too. What do you sell? I wonder.
You know if you had taken a diff approach you could build all kinds of things that you wanted, and without trouble or boredom. There's a lot of great action under the wiring of the breadboard, so to speak, but the kind of techie that you are, and I say this without being personal, it's REALLY about anyone who thinks your qualifications and business methods ARE what internet business people like me and many here do - makes me sick. Because we're NOT like you. 90% of us are totally different and do a VERY honest hard-working job - yet we ALL get labelled as the same as you - and you take yourself really seriously. You are someone with a glorified paper round, because what you do is NOT "good business" in terms of what it does for the country and global commercial society as a whole - it's just a cheating way of getting money. Leaving fat trails of info, drawing into certain kinds of sites.
I know for sure what you do, dude, you get yourself MILLIONS of hits and turn those into staple money, whilst the ethical developer and the business-minded developer are getting 1000s of hits and turning them into the same money.
I'm sorry that I've come down so harshly against you but I'm telling you what I actually think, and that's surely the most valuable answer (for you) to your question.
I suggest that you give up your idea and learn some real development one way or another. I really do feel that people with things like MCPD are really really really NOT techies and nowhere NEAR tech literate. I honestly do. So what you said has made me disrespect your approach and model by another factor of 1000.
Sorry. As a guerrilla marketer, I like you. But as a developer - I see you as a stain, a fake, a person who makes ME look bad. So that's why I criticize you.
