I agree, there are no guarantees with SEO unless you are willing to pay for Adwords.

If your niche is very competitive such as an Insurance website or investment site, even the pros have difficulty getting top rankings with a new site.
There are to many websites who are already established as "authority sites," in many niches.

There are no shortcuts im afraid, and you would have to be carful who you hire to do something like that for you, as it would be very expensive and there are a lot of companies that guarentee top 10 rankings that make false claims to get your money !

there is no guaranteed to get top 10 for a few days, but there are possibilities to get top 10 position.

A few days and months won't definitely do it. It will depend mostly with the competition of keywords. It wouldn't be easy for sure. So guaranteed rankings is possible but a time limit, shouldn't be too short.

two things:

If "SEO" is cheap, it isn't worth what you are paying.

If the "SEO" guarantees "first positions" they are lying or targeting useless phrases

First of all SEO is something which cannot be guaranteed in a short duration.
Specially if you need rankings within the top 10 positions,the results would take sufficient time for getting the desired output.

No such thing as a guaranteed top 10, SEO companies also charge far more for what you get than they deserve. Pick up some books and figure out how to do it, it will pay off
