I had an idea about posting a wiki article about my blog to boost it's page rank and add extra back links. Would this be a good idea, and does ikipedia even allow you to do this?

Using wikipedia's backlinks for PR is not a good idea, because wikipedia uses rel="nofollow" attribute for all links, so its backlinks will have no value. Another business is if you create a good article which will make someone interested and they will visit your site.
Huh, nice idea. A friend of mine once tried to add a link to a wiki page on a related topic. Naturally, it got deleted, but in fact the site managed to grasp a visitor or two...
Lol, just imagined the look of wikipedia if everyone started using it for advertising.
WoW, Crazy idea but For this you have to write very unique and interesting article For your blog ... and that article just Sent you some traffic it'll not help to boost your pr because wikipedia using nofollow attribute for out going links

It's a bad idea and no, wikipedia doesn't allow it
All wikipedia pages links are with nofollow label.
