Hi members, I've got a google pr question.

My site in google webmaster tools is said the highest pr is the homepage, but actually some inner pages have a higher pr, can anyone explain this? Thanks.

I thinks you done more link building work for inner pages as well,

and your inner pages PR will not be shown by Google Webmaster tool. i have also this kind of problem but i thinks it's show us only home page PR.

Yes, your inner pages have more backlinks from dofollow sites that's why their page rank are higher than your home page...

That is PAGE rank and diffrent pages has diffrent PR and it soesn't matter if that index page or not

it is interesting that your home page have lower pr and inner pages have higher WoW, i never heard or see this before i just know that if home page have pr 2 then your inner pages must have pr 1 or 0 , wow its really new thing for me

I've had this on a site of mine before, a particular page on our site gained some really good natural backlinks from a press release we sent out to some prominent blogs and suddenly it's PR shot up above the rest of the site.

Yes some times it possible in page rank tool is shown high pr of home page, but actually is not right, i don't trust on rank checker tool, i always use Google toolbar if some times it's also not working then i check pr in Seo book toolbar this tool is always shown right pr.

Having an inner page with higher PR than the homepage is not unusual at all. I suggest you recheck your PR using the google toolbar.

^^Actually the toolbar is wrong, and online PR check tools are more accurate. The toolbar isn't updated nearly as much, and is known to give weird numbers.

1.) Page Rank (and SEO for that matter) is page based. It all depends on incoming links and quality of those links per page. It is fine if an inner page has higher rank.
2.) Page Rank really doesn't matter.

And do they have some impact on home page ? i mean if inner page have pr4 And home page have pr2 and that page already linking to my home page does this make some impact on my home page ranking too ?

It all depends on how you build up your site. Let's not forget the main function that calculates PR. It all depends how you build up your dofollows and nofollows inside your site+the inlinks you get for the inner pages.

Well I have the same opinion with dzinestand.
All I can say is I believe that your site is ok and should continue to promote the pages that are worth it. As far as I know there is no reason to promote Home page just because it is Home page.

I think the inner links got the best treatment like Link building so inner links have more backlinks so PR is high than index page.

This is because it's possible that there are some high pr backlinks pointing on that page.

The users are mostly interested in particular information, not homepages. Therefore it's great to have inner pages optimized and stuff. Another thing is whether they manage to rank.

How come other pr checkers are in possession of the data exported by google once every three to four months?

Maybe your google webmaster tool is not updated yet

The toolbar just needs to update, so give it more time to catch up.
