Hi guys,

A friend of mine has a site hosted with GoDaddy -
Liberty In Home Care
- this site was originally on a different domain name of -
Liberty Cares

The old address is 301 towards the new address. This took place two weeks a go. When you do a simple search for Liberty In Home Care the old website name and description shows up not the new one. How long does this take to change? Using webmaster tools it already says that the new address has already been crawled and indexed! How do you get google to recrawl and reindex?

One thing that worries me is that my friend also has another ten names(some .org .info .net all to do with his name pointing at the same place..... will this cause hic-ups with google?).

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Thanks

DB

It will take as long as it takes for Google to crawl and reindex the site. That will have a lot to do with how important they considered the site before it moved. It could also depend on how well the redirection was set up. Since you mention 301s I'll assume the redirection was set up fine.

There's not really a single answer to how long it will take. I changed domains about a year ago and I think within a month most everything had been reindexed on the new domain, yet I still see the old domain listed today. Yahoo has never figured it out and still ranks my pages based on the old domain.
