Pr 4 - low traffic - I read the post at web master talk. I read it because I am in the same boat. I have an idea. (Not selling anything) I'm trying to get a "website cooperative" started. Like a directory where people in a certain category promote each others sites (if they want to). Really the only purpose in PR is selling links on your site to people that are also obsessed with PR.

You can try social booking marking but maybe advertising on sites that are similiar to your niche and of course you have to make certain your targeting the correct keywords. Maybe increase paid advertising you know on sites that have high traffic.

I see so many of us packing our Search Engine Page Result with keywords to a fault. We need to remember that this short listing is also our "SALES COPY". IT IS WHAT GETS US OUR CLICK and starts that person down the path to our objective, a sale, a sign-up, or some sort of other interaction. Yes we need keywords in there but you have to groom it to be click-through encouraging.

Engage on social media and networking.. This strategy will help you get the amount of traffic you want.. Participate on social networking sites like hi5, tagged, twitter, myspace, multiply, and facebook. Invite friends and followers then you can ask them to follow on your link..

It shows that PR does not matter when it comes to traffic. When my site was PR 2 it received a huge amount of traffic and now it is PR 3 but it does not get the same amount of traffic these days.

Why do people always mingle up PR with traffic. PR is a numerical rank given by google to every site which doesn't mean that it will give traffic. Do get traffic you have to do SEO work to get good SERP and SE provides major traffic for every sites.

You can also promote your site via different linkbuilding technique, do some classified ads posting.

The best way is through G only. Type in G to find with phrase - "Where or how can i find ____?" This way you can directly reach to them who are eager in these services.

The best way I can think of are definitely do follow forum postings, directory submissions, social bookmarking and on-site optimization. Those are all ethical.

How is ruining other people's websites with your promotional posts "ethical"?

Try submitting to more directories and getting some backlinks. As mentioned before, some paid advertisement on a larger site with more traffic might get you somewhere, given that you are willing to pay for the traffic or can find someone that can/will do it for cheap.

Sad truth is.. PR does not = Traffic. Quality articles with keywords, backlinks, forum posts advertising your website, blog posts advertising your website... there are a lot of other factors involved.

Hey, me again. Thanks for the feedback. I have a problem being social just to get traffic. I like to talk to people. But I don't chat. I ask a lot of questions. Take in all the answers. So I'm just gonna keep doing what I'm doing. Putting what I think is best on the site. Since I'm not selling anything it's not like I'm hurting. Thanks again for responding.

digg your site and submit to social bookmarks daily,post links in forums and ask forum leaders with big posts to link back to you in exchange of small ammount of money(that will worth)
submit articles to big article directories
and submit links to big link directories
if you can write a pdf and link back to your site and submit to pdf directories
take care of the seo and try to learn from the experts.
