My site has been around for a couple of years now and I'm managed to achieve a Google Page Rank of 4. However, I still get low volume through my site - and probably as with any website success requires a large volume of traffic in my chose area which is the house share market.
What would you suggest is the best way to increase traffic - do I need more high content pages to target a broader range of terms - and will my PR mean that Google is likely to pick them up more quickly. I feel sure there is a mrket for my site as there are others in the same field that seem to do well. I've spoken to my designers about a Contnet Management system, but as with anything it requires money throwing at it that I don't have at the moment. I still have faith in my market - but what woud the experts advise that I do? Give in, complete product re-design - go for the content management solution - or some other suggestion?

You just need to keep building more quality backlinks using your target keywords as link anchor text. For example, you are near the bottom of page 1 for 'house share'. If you want decent traffic from that keyword, you need to be top 3. Try analyzing the backlinks of the websites ranking above you. That may give you ideas for new links and it will give you an idea of how many links you need. Try things like article submission, press release submission, blog commenting, forum signatures, directory submission, social bookmarking, etc.

Pagerank has alot of different factors to concider. I did a search for you and found "Results 1 - 10 of about 325 for "www.abodewithme.com". (0.19 seconds) You need to start building back links buy submitting to directories and other ways of getting you backlinks built up. A good way to advertise your site is on craigslist.org if its in your area.

Having that PR is great. You said it right, your pages can be picked up easily by Google because you have the authority.

Adding simple off site SEO like hubpages hubs and squidoo can boost up your rankings provided that you have quality articles.

Submitting lots of articles to leading article directories can also boost your traffic.

Really the only purpose in PR is selling links on your site to people that are also obsessed with PR. I've always said that if you get traffic, links will follow. I would suggest trying to optimize for some high volume keywords and also write articles, use social media, etc. to get some traffic.

PR and traffic both are different things for a web page. A web page get PR by strong back links but a web page get traffic by its popularity and ranking in search engines.

Promote your site using some of the SEO strategies.. Blog commenting, forum posting, etc..

Use all possible promotional tactics and increase one way links of your website from relevant resources. Join daily updated sites for more exposure of your site.

i think to get more traffic u must need to do social bookmarking in high pr sites and make your blog.you can also comment others blog.Forum posting is also helpful to get backlinks and traffic.

Having a high PR doesn't mean that your site's traffic will also increase. PR is based on number of backlinks your site has gathered.

To increase your site's traffic, you do need to make your site visible in search engines for certain competitive keywords (have high search volume) that rank high in search results. It's better to focus more on increasing your keyword rankings in serp so that your site can get more organic traffic from search engines that may also lead to increasing your site's conversion.

Well.....Good PR doesnt assure good traffic........but if you have a higher ranking on google even with PR 0 you will get good amount of traffic......and search volume also matters in ters of traffic........

So, first try to get among top rankings in google because SE's are the best source of traffic...........you can also promote your site through publishing blogs, classified , bookmarking, quality link building, RSS submission that will help you in getting good ranking on google as well as referaal traffic too........

If you want immediate results, PPC is the way to go! It'll boost your traffic in an instant.

I have two sites with PR 1 and other have PR 4 but the site with PR1 is getting more traffic than PR4 it all depends upon the keywords which you are using and niche of your site I think if you analysis your keywords it will increase your traffic from search engines

One of the best options woule be all of the following as suggested by
Jeremy 80 article submission, press release submission, blog commenting, forum signatures, directory submission, social bookmarking, etc.In addition try to get in touch with people who are in the same business as your sites and promote your site through viral marketing.

Promote your site in order to increase traffic... Participate in forums and blogs.. Try to apply all the SEO strategies.

Page Rank is really tied to how many links you have, traffic is a bit more complicated then that.
Serps, link building, traffic....are all different and have nothing to do with PR
though the more link building you do, the more traffic you get and the higher up on serps you get, one would hope your PR also increses

PR is not a guarantee of traffic or high ranking in SERP. It is only good for link exchange and selling advertising space. If you want to generate more traffic try some other way like social media.

The answer may lay in the title because you have got 4 keyword phrases in it which dilutes the value of each coming up in serps! You might consider narrowing the title to try and nailing one or two of them!

As you have good PR the only way you should do is do some keyword optimization in title tag.

Plan of action : Make the title tag more relevant as the place where you are targeting,

Eg: If your service in New York provide the title tag as
House Share in New York

I think you got the idea as think as user thinks. He will type house share in X

X can be a place. Without a place nobody will search for these kind of keywords.
