As stated by Google Page rank of website is calculated on the basis of number of back links. But i have found that there are few websites which don't have a single Back Links, But Still Google gave them PR. What this means ?

It should be calculated on the basis of quality of backlinks based on the original Google document. However, seems that RSS feeds have messed the full SERP up.

Of course, depending on the quality of back links, the ranking of the keyword for a particular site is decided -> Google algorithm.

However doing well practices of seo can make it possible but the back links are most important .. keep in mind!

Can you show those sites. Because its been strongly believed that Google pr algorithm is mainly based on back links.

The truth is no one knows for true how its worked out. The algorithms change from time to time. So its hard to predict. But backlinks plays an important part especially when its from a quality website.

I can't believe this. May be you are unable to find the backlinks for that site. It happens sometimes. The only place I check for backlinks of a websie is on yahoo explore. But that too is not completely reliable as I have seen sites with backlinks which yahoo missed to list some of them.

Nevertheless the backlinks need not be from a different site. May be this is what you meant. Any site will generally have atleast one backlink from the pages of the same site or same domain home page. That too is considered for page rank depending on relevancy of these pages.

I believe that number and quality of backlinks are just one ingredient. There should have other secret ingredients.

I think freshness and uniqueness of content of website, proper navigation, etc...

I have not seen single website that has some PR without back links.

Given all the seo links in your signature, shouldn't you be telling us what it means.

its imposible that google giving it a PageRank without back links maybe because google is just not showing its back links for security purposes.

there are many algo of google into google page rank. the best answer to this is quality backlinks into authority site and related site.

Google gives the page rank for a site by considering many factors.One such factor is backlinks.page rank also depends upon the domain age of the site and the site content and quality.

That's nonsense I'm afraid. It is simple, and I have seen Matt Cutts himself state this, backlinks equal PageRank. He recently gave a talk on PR scuplting and described, in pretty good detail, how PageRank is passed from page to page, via links, and how it is divided up between the outbound links of a page.

Understanding Page Rank is SEO 101. I would consider a new career.

No links - no pagerank. As simple as that. You just have to know where to look.

I have experienced this matter that when i have only 7 backlinks of low quality I had no PE but now I have 27 high quality backlinks then i have pr 2.
So, finally it can be said that pr depends upon quality backlinks

When G first time, still not update, showed their PR algo it was clear that PR will only depend upon backlinks and outgoing links. What else have you found or which is the website which have high PR without any backlink.
