So here's the quiz -
Johnny has a website. During June, Googlebot crawls about 10,000 to 15,000 of Johnny's pages. They're all good pages, each unique, individual, full of useful links, distinct from the other pages, informative for both a user and a robot.
Before June, when Johnny's website only had about 1000 pages on it, the number of pages inside google from Johnny's website was about 1000.
During July Johnny's further pages still haven't been added to Google but the 1000 pages which were already in there seem to have become overwhelmingly updated.
Since the link-richness of all the pages, even the original 1000, has increased by a factor of 100 during June, after Googlebot had already crawled many of the new pages once, how long before Google itself actually lists any significant number of pages more than the 1000 it already has up for Johnny, and what should Johnny do in that time?
Update: I have been looking over Johnny's listed pages and amazingly Google is very behind in catching up with the data - most of the pages google has listed are still, at the youngest, crawled in early June - thus the growth of traffic Johnny already has is from only a smattering of uptodate data.
The hardest thing in the world is being patient when it comes to gains. Why shouldn't I have it right now? You demand, if not for yourself then because of the vanity, because of how many people you know just don't believe in anything other than the crystal clear, obvious (and sometimes deceptive).
I know that it could take until September to really get truly updated with all the information I've made available to the public and google. There is other work to do but I am also keen to stage publication such that I can still measure the first "burst" fully, all the way through to september. But I should have the next burst of work all ready to publish anyway. Where I have 16,000 semantic objects I aim to have 30,000 very soon and 100,000 eventually. All of them are hand-crafted - that's the secret of my success.
