Google must be having some updates on there database that's why your rankings goes up and down in the results page.. What about now? did you recheck your rankings on SERP? Do you have good results now?

#5 to #3 is not a big drop.. but check all other keywords... And also by Google analytic check the detaild report about the clciks by each keywords and its drop...
3 to 5 isn't huge at all, just keep to it and make sure you don't have a daily to weekly consistant drop, if you drop steadily over a week or two then it's time to look into building better backlinks and possibly adding / updating content.
Traffic loss might be due to the normal fluctuation of the Google index, known as the Google Dance, which happens every few months. What is more important is that you make sure you are not doing anything that may jeopardize website rankings.
If you keep your serp positions and the traffic dropped for a couple days, then it may be just by chance. Wait for a few days and let us know if this situation continues.

We are talking traffic here, not rankings. What on earth could google dance (!) have anything to do with a drop in traffic with rankings left practically unaffected?
Given the above, what needs to be done is figuring out what kind of traffic exactly vanished, i.e. what referrer is no longer able to send visitors.
if its only temporary then google must be doing some updates. i have seen a sudden drop in links that google registers through my google webmaster tools about six weeks ago and this decline continues since then but at a slower pace. that could also have something to do with google updates i think
It drops because of your competitors site is ahead of you know.. You have to be competitive in order to get on top.. Remember: it should be a healthy competition..
Maybe it has circle effect. For example,my site is for resellers only, and they always visit my site at work time ,so the traffic drop down to the half in the weekends. And I think it's normal.
