Well most of the blogs are already no-follow. Their links i.e. If all sites would have to be no-follow, google would certainly change its algorithm. They're much smarter and would not let a single issue cripple the system.

i also think that nofollow links must be having some importance in Google. it can be seen in some backlinks checker tools available online.
and i guess soon Google will show nofollow links as our backlinks too in its algorithm.
nofollow links can be helpful for your sites ranking in other search engines as well, then why to leave it

Maybe it will indicate the end of SEO. As the essence of SEO,backlinks, both quality and quantity, is almost all the job of seoers. So it will be a horrible news.

It wont be the end of SEOers but yea links will be hardly available to webmasters. But the count of backlinks will be very too low and the quality too. Cant imagine much as there are many things which can occur if there are no dofollow available.

As we know that Google changes and update its algorithm periodically and nofollow is basically used to prevent spam or unethical promotional practice.

As I see this right now, what is abused is bound to get discounted in rankings.

if that the case, then G just comeup with new rules
u don't have to worry about that

Then I believe do not have to make deligent search for finding put do follow links. In that case, content will play the pivotal role as a matter of fact.

IMO the nofollow link is also effective, but not very good as dofollow link.
In all it can improve your PV and link Popularity.

Why would they?
Well if enough people abuse nofollow attribute, for example nofollowing all outgoing links except to a few big sites and a few sites that you own, google's system that works on who is linking to who will get thrown off. Obviously it would take a whole lot of people to abuse it before google would have to adapt.

Also, excellent post earlier in the thread willcode4beer
