There is no such thing as "dofollow" if you make a link no follow using the nofollow tag (rel="nofollow") that will make that link nofollow. Any link that doesn't use the nofollow tag is dofollow by nature. Unless you are using a robot file or some other form of blocking links from being followed.

So what you are actually asking is. Is it ok to put adsense on a webpage. In answer to that question yes but. By asking such a question as that it would suggest you don't know much about Adsense.

I would advise you to read the Adsense TOS (Terms Of Service). In fact I would advise you to read it, and then read it again and then come back to it in a couple of days and read it again until you are well versed in it. Any questions like this can be answered by reading the Adsense TOS.

Like they.. Why don't you RTFM?

"People, please, "dofollow" simply does not exist. There are links that are restricted (in theory) by the use of a "nofollow" value applied to the rel (related) attribute, BUT the absence of this limiting value does NOT mean that the link will be followed and/or pass value on for Internet search engines to use in their ranking calculation."

I have read this form chrishirst 's recommendation link, but now I am completetly confused!

Could u explain that for me,
chrishirst??
So the use of "dofollow links" by directory owners and the like is misleading at best.

What's confusing?

There are many ways that pages can be blocked from being indexed or passing "link value"

Just because there is not a rel="nofollow" on the link is NOT a guarantee.

Just to turn the question on its head - why would it NOT be ok to put adsense on a dofollow blog (or rather a blog that was not rel=nofollow)?

How do you guys think people advertised on websites before the invention of nofollow?

Fixed, but no.

No nofollow doesn't mean the link will automatically be followed, only the Search Engines know how much "value" the link passes on within the calculation algorithm.

Well in theory dofollow does exist, its just the opposite of a nofollow link. Maybe this will be clearer

DOFOLLOW = NORMAL LINK
NOFOLLOW = LINK WITH NOFOLLOW TAG

So replace 'dofollow' with 'normal link' whenever your going to ask something like that.

is it ok to put adsense ads on normal link blogs?

Answer: Of course it is, why wouldn't it be?

Thanks. I figured that a "dofollow link" was actually a normal link but its good to see it in blank and white.

it doesn't matter for adsense, in adsense we want traffic and conversion. We are only concern on normal link if we want to get back links and good serp.
