This tool is provided by Google to help advertisers determine the best keywords for their sites. This tool functions a lot like Overture's but does not display the frequency of searchers for each keyword.
It does however provide a detailed listing of keyword suggestions based on the keyword you entered.
And since Google is the most popular search engine, its list represents an accurate representation of data.
The tool is fairly accurate, but remember that the numbers are just an estimate. Either way it can still help you get an idea what keywords to target.

Not that accurate I say.. But can surely help you decide which keywords to take for your campaign. Aside from this tool, I also check keyword status using google insights. You may try it as well.

My view is it's in Googles best interest to help your website/websites. I think the tool is as accurate as they can make it without risking giving away too much info. Think about it, it they told you exact information then so many people would abuse the search engines.

use it for relativity but not for the exact numbers. So if I search for a word I compare it within the other keywords the tool is giving you... in contrast as a whole I wouldn't rely on the numbers for any stats
There's no accurate results when it comes to keyword tool but I think google suggestion tool can give different combination to build effective keyword list.

I would just take the google keyword tool as a suggestion. Sometimes it comes up with crazy responses that don't make any sense. Then again sometimes those crazy keywords can actually be very helpful.
I think so there's no 100% accurate results when it comes to keyword tool, so i suggest u can use more than one keyword tool so that u can get more accurate results!
It's not the 100% accurate, but it's the best keyword tool out there, especially if you're optimizing your site in Google. It pretty much reveals everything you need - competition, search volume, keyword suggestions, etc.

They are not al all accurate. For example I will give my experience.
My two target keywords together count for 13500 searches per month. I guessed them and started optimizing for them. I guessed to get 13500/30 = 450 visitors per day.
Now I am in 7th and 8th rank for those two keywords.
Result:
I do not even get 5 visitors from these two keywords. Pity right!
May be if i increase my serps to #1 I will hardly get 10 visitors. That too I am not sure. Now you know right. Take the count from keyword tool as a guidance.
It is not totally accurate for actual volumes, but it gives you an idea of relative volumes.
Top tip: once you have used it to gather your keywords to use, do a Google search with auto search enabled in google preferences and see what related terms appear, and also once results are shown, scroll down for other related searches. This can help you find an even more targeted keyterm.
For note it only shows keywords / 2 keyword phrases - not more realistic search terms (long tail keywords) such as "where can I buy timberland boots" - which is a more realistic search term. It's good but not that good as a tool
Cheers
