2 days of SEO work aren't enough to get a STABLE ranking. Your niche is competitive. Linkbuilding should be done continuously to prevent someone from outranking you.

well i think anyone can be at the first page for SOME time. but what really matters is its CONSISTENCY when it comes to which page a site really ranks.. this is an unending battle

What is mentioned by the rest is correct. Usually they will give preferences to newly created web pages but as time passes by, the ranking will start to decrease.

I think Google do this in order to have time for that webmaster to optimize his website or blog for not more than a month before its rankings goes down from page 1 to page 50 or worst page 100.
