Hello everybody.

I have a 6 month old blog and I`m trying to get genuine Google traffic to it;

I regularly check SERP and I see that I`m on 50th position for keyword in "" ("my_keyword") and i`m not even in SERP for keyword without quotes.

About 3-4 days ago my page appeared in SERP on 33th position for my keyword without quotes, I got some traffic instantly. But after 2 days it dissapeared from SERP again.

Now I don`t know what I`m doing wrong. What`s the problem with my blog/links/Google ??? Why I`m not in SERP for keyword without quotes ?? What sould I do to get there?

What I have already done:

• I`m following all Google webmaster recomendations as possible;
• My articles are longtale keyword - optimized (not too much);
• I have approx. 50 links to each page from article syndication sites and web 2.0 resources (DoFollow) with my keyword in the anchors. Links exist for about 1,5 month already and are indexed by Google.

Its just normal. Google SERP are normally fluctuating. It just means that your SERP is not yet stable. Keep your link building process, dude.

Maybe I didn't express myself clear...

I`m stable in SERP for keyword WITH quotes. But I'm not present in SERP for my keyword WITHOUT quotes.

That's real problem - I'm not fluctuating, I'm just not there at all.

you need to work more for that, if you get good position its means your on the right track but it fluctuate during the process change your style and think of better strategy.

Well, you say "fluctuate".. But it disappears from the SERP for long periods.. I thought that fluctuating means moving from one position to another. In that case I would not ask all these questions.
But that dissapearing from SERP (for several weeks) makes me thinking that I`m doing something wrong - and I don`t know what (I`m trying to everything "by the book")

Why is it, that with the wealth of knowledge that exists on the Internet people seem unable to find the information that for FIVE years now, Google updates continuously and has many unsychronised datacentres that show different results, so what is shown for a query may well differ from the same query when done a few minutes later, or on a different mahine??

I suppose you posted in the wrong thread.

I'm talking not about different positions in SERP from time to time and from place to place.

I`m talking about non-presence in SERP. Non-presence of page that has 50+ dofollow Google-indexed backlinks with exact keyword in anchor.

I suppose, different datacenters, regional SERP and all that sh*t could cause SERP dance for +/- several positions. And I`m telling that my well-optimized page is not present in SERP for most of the time. And it`s presence for keyword in quotes is very stable.

When you have 500+ or 5000+ and your site has been around a LOT longer than 6 months you might find the results stabilising.

You obviously have a great deal to learn how search engines actually work.

Well... If you don't know what is meant when somebody says "dofollow" LOL !!!!!!!!!! This unofficial term is W.I.D.E.L.Y. spreaded among SEO people.

Find me an authoratitive source for the absence of a "dofollow" means categorically that the links will actually be followed and given any value by SEs.

Many "SEO people" are still in the belief that it is still 1998 and the tricks that worked then still work today.
At one time the whole world believed the Earth was flat, didn't make that true either though.

The simple answer is:

Your page/site is not "important" enough for Google to even bother showing it to searchers.

@OP: There could be several reasons your rank is languishing. Perhaps a bit too much duplicate content, inbound links from spammy sites maybe?

As for the number of inbound links, it's dependent on how many inbound links with keyword anchor text the competitors have. Generally speaking, you can beat them just by having more inbound page links with the keyword combination.

Finally, I would try adding links with keyword variations and modifiers, which should help with the overall broad match situation.

Site rankings won't fluctuate if you build good relevant backlinks to that page.

OK, you say that article marketing doesn't work, right??? Then what work?

NO, I don't have duplicate content.
Inbound links from article marketing and social sites. Are they spammy? I think not.

Exactly! Now, with my original content - how can G's bot evaluate if it is useful for users or not? If it is about uniqueness - the content is unique. If it's about inlinks... I have links from article directories (just one thing, ALL anchors are THE SAME: five words in anchor... maybe it is the reason?)

Nothing to do with "how many words" more to do with the links being of little "value".

The bot doesn't evaluate how "useful your content is". The Google algo determines "importance" or "value" based on the number of natural links the page(s) has/have attracted.

Some links that are deemed to be "self-placed" will probably not be given the same value as links that are determined to be natural.

I don't think you're doing anything wrong. The fact that your site showed up
at #33 and you got traffic from that tells me that your keyword gets a lot of
traffic and is more than likely very competitive.

The fact that your site shows up with quotes is a sign that you are doing
things right.

I think you need to do more of the same.

Focus more links to your homepage.
