I have a site I have been building backlinks on with unique article wizard and when I type in the author name to see how many pages I have indexed I see I have 42 indexed but when I type in the url to my page it displays no backlinks. It has been a month now and still no links showing up. Has anyone been through this before.

try yahoo site explorer. It is better than google in this counts
also you can try google webmaster tools to check how many backlinks do you have to all your site pages

You will only see your google backlinks when google puts out an update, this is how it has alway been done.
