does converting your page text to norwegian and submitting to google work to get you indexed on google.no? im trying to get my page ranked up on google norway. so i translated the main text of my page to norwegian, and translated part of the link to norwegian. do you think google will put me on google.no? any advice greatly appreciated. thanks. derek

Submitting won't do anything.

If your page is in Norwegian then it stands a change of being shown on ANY "regional Google" if someone uses the Norwegian search phrase.

I think it won't gonna make any bigger change.

thanks. i cant understand why my "odd nerdrum" page shows up near the top on google. but on google.no, it doesnt even show up at all. when i type in "odd nerdrum" on google, it shows up near the top, and when i type "odd nerdrum" on google.no, it doesnt even show up. does anyone know why? this is why i chose to try to make my page in norwegian .

There are sometimes slightly different criteria to be "important" in the regional engines, "local" pages tend to do better than "global" pages.

But I wouldn't worry too much about it, because what you see from your US IP on google.no is going to be different for someone on a "local" IP.

wow thanks chrishirst! i didnt know they look at your physical location based on ip. lol. no one visited yet from google.no, where most of the "odd nerdrum" traffic is, but i guess ill just hope for more US traffic. ok thanks. derek putting the norwegian text worked. im now showing up on google.no under "odd nerdrum teknikk" which is norwegian for technique.

Well....just submitting is not enough. and also converting your page text to norwegian will not help you in ranking global search, it will help only region specific or if a person search using norvegian text.

I don't think it wouldn't make any difference all. To rank high in a regional location, you need links that come from the same datacenter. It's NOT based on language.

You can rank for norwegian searched words that's if your contents are relevant enough.
