Hi ,

I want to know about why PR is not improtant as may webmaster suggets that PR is not important.

In short, PR does not give you traffic but search engine ranking gives you traffic - the most important thing for success of a website. So search engine ranking is always more and more important Than PR.

I think PR serves only as an indicator of the traffic in your website... the more people views your page, the more likely you increase PR... there are a lot of sites with good PR but does not rank well in Google... however there are some sites with 0 or low PR but are able to get to the top 10 SERP's

If you want to sell links, PR is important. Otherwise it is not.

Sorry Dude you got it all wrong. PR is Page Rank and what you are "probably" meaning is Page Position.

PR(A) = (1-d) + d(PR(t1)/C(t1) + ... + PR(tn)/C(tn))

Where did you get the question of traffic in this formula?

PR is too overrated (!) and it doesn't affect ranking in any way. Hence, it's useless.

PR is not really important. The important is your website's ranking in keywords and also your content.

But sometimes people buy links to get higher PR. I think whats important is to have organic visitors to get higher PR. You need to have more outbound liks to have high PR.

Well, PR is important only when you want to purchase or sell links otherwise traffic doesn't come through PR.

Seriously people, PR is not what you all think. It is not important at all unless of course you have some noob trying to pay you lots of money for links on a high PR page you have, then by all means pump it up for them.

It's amazing that with all the information out there about what PageRank is so many people still don't even have a clue. For those of you without a clue have you ever searched for the simple phrase what is pagerank

Google needs to drop all visible signs of PR so we can stop having to deal with threads like this one.
