Getting ready for Google's Caffeine: How many kb is your front page?
Matt Mullen from Google recently announced that page load times will be a new factor in the ranking algorithm. whats your opinion? and please tell me how can i reduce my website's home page size <link drop removed> which is 82kb currently how can i take it within 50kb?

And is there an authorative source for this "news"

Is an 82kb site too large? for me I dont think so, you should focus on other SEO techniques rather than removing contents from your site in the name of optimizing for Google caffeine.

sorry it was matt cutt who said that "Historically, we haven't had to use it in our search rankings, but a lot of people within Google think that the web should be fast," says Cutts. "It should be a good experience, and so it's sort of fair to say that if you're a fast site, maybe you should get a little bit of a bonus. If you really have an awfully slow site, then maybe users don't want that as much." Matt Cutts

Webpronews is a piece of junk because I can also write for them. I had some of my articles there and this is just a view and not a news.

And at no point at all does he even hint that it is or even maybe a factor.

So it seems that you have half understood what was said, and promptly turned it into a fact!.

Congratulations, that probably qualifies you as a SEO "expert"!!!!

dont be so harsh, i never posted it as a news item, i just wanted to tae opinions of everyone else about this.

It's not a news item, it's opinion and you posted it as FACT!

The problem with your post is the WAY it was written stated that it was fact.

Just be careful how you post and always include the source of the information.

I think however load time do not influence ranking but it is good to have load time less.

The second misleading thing which is mentioned in the article is he mentioned about speed and not about size.

That's probably because most people do not know the difference between bandwith and download or between load time and browser rendering time.
