I know I NEVER disagree with you Chris but on this one I will, I use the SEOQuake toolbar, and I use it for research on my customers sites as well as my competition.

As with all "toolbars", "analysers" etc you are relying on somebody else's judgement on what is the "right thing to do" it is still "SEO by numbers".

I grew out of the formula SEO long ago, and realised that not every site, not every market place and in some cases not every page can be treated in exactly the same way to get the same results.

Who is to say your "competitors" know any better? What if they are using exactly the same tools? It will be like two dogs chasing their tails, you will be perpetually going around in circles and occasionally bumping into each other and the surroundings.

You've probably all seen the science fiction scenario with two "mighty battle computers" that have been in deadlock for decades because they use the same logic as each other.
Do you really want to be playing "Tic Tac Toe" (Noughts & Crosses for the Brits ) with the other sites?

I agree with that. The importance of a tools lies on the user itself depending on our needs.

I use this same toolbar as well, http://tools.seobook.com/seo-toolbar/. Ever since I started learning seo, I've been a fan of this tool until now. It is a complete package for me because everything I look for is here.

Same here... I have SEO toolbar but I don't know how to use it effectively. I only use Rank Checker and toolbar PR.

Does anyone find it useful?
