I was banned from the Google VIDEO search. Two sites of mine with videos simply disappeared from the video results. One of the sites was hugely successful in Google Video Search.

I filed a reconsideration request. In it I admitted doing something they probably found objectionable, and promised not to do it again.

Nine days later i received the usual form letter from them stating:
We've processed your reconsideration request for http://www.mysite.com/

Nothing happened and its now been 8 days since getting the notice.

Assuming, ( I know that's not a safe assumption ) that someone there "approved" my site, how long does it take to see results. Does it happen immediately? Propagate to data-centers slowly? Wait for the next update?

If there is anyone who has successfully filed a reconsideration request, could you please tell us what happens next and in what time-frame?

The site/pages will have to be reindexed a few time to ensure that whatever caused the "deindexing" (if that WAS the case) has been removed. This may take a few days or a couple of weeks.

However IF what you suspect was a problem actually wasn't, and it is just a natural occurance there will probably be no change.

Thanks for the information. I voted for my own videos, more than once & believe that is the reason for the ban.

If they treat that the same way they treat clicking on your own sites adds, then I think I have said goodbye to the video search forever. Otherwise I may get be reinstated. I have definitely learned a lesson.

So there is nothing on the site that is objectionable, and that makes sense because the site does very well in the WEB search.

Well I guess I should wait another few weeks before getting depressed.

Thanks again.

Clicking on adsense gets a payment for the publisher ID a of the adverts, "voting" for your own videos doesn't "earn" you anything, so it's hardly the thing that gets you banned, and click fraud doesn't get a site banned just the adsense account.

Also if your site appears in the web search the site isn't banned it's probably on of the inumerable glitches that happens when "rank checking".

Try logging in (or out) of your Goole account and see what changes.

I unknowingly bought a domain that Google had de-indexed (banned). It took almost a year after filing the reconsideration request for them to re-instate it. Once they did they went ahead and indexed all the pages but it sure was a slow process.

Thanks again chrishirst. This time for your insight.

It makes sense, from what you said, that my site is not banned from the Video search because of voting too many times. But then why does the site rank # 3 for its primary keyword ( Results 1 - 10 of about 1,110,000) and also shows slitelinks for its de-concatenated name, ie. my site instead of mysite.com

Google loves the site in the web search.

The webmaster tools account shows 27 video-sitemap videos, and no problems anywhere.

When I do a video search for mysite.com it returns:
"Your search - mysite.com did not return any results."

When I do a web search for mysite.com it returns:
Results 1 - 10 of about 928 for mysite.com.

Any ideas?

Be happy to pm the url if needed.

I've never had to do such a thing, as I follow the rules and don't get banned from the index.
