Reading through this forum it is easy to tell you are very anti-page rank which I understand page rank doesnt bring traffic but for seo purposes ie trying to get high pr backlinks if you have no pages with high pr to offer how can you get high pr backlinks, nobody is interested in a link from a page showing n/a?

Not "anti" PR just very aware of how useless the toolbar variety of PR is.

Just because the link beggars have fooled themselves into thinking toolbar PR is some kind of goal and chasing a useless metric has become a way of life for them doesn't mean to say the rest of us have to follow like lemmings thinking they can swim the ocean.

PR is pretty much for bragging rights only. If you have done any research on the main competitors for your keywords you almost always see situations in which sites with low PR appear above sites with high PR in search results.

You can have a PR of 10 as long as I am shown above you in search engine results.

Creating a fan page on social networking sites helps boost the amount of traffic that you are getting.

Social networking sites are a very handy in driving traffic for your site, they are also very helpful in providing backlinks, thus they help in hike in PR. But it is no matter what PR your site has, unless the content and tarffc of your site is good.

traffic + link with high PR = top page ! hahaha. this is my favorite technique in SEO. I would rather made a bookmarking than for a blog directories because of link reciprocal issue

So you are saying a link from a page showing pr1 carrys the same weight as a pr5? I am talking about link weight not traffic, obviously I would rather be page 1 of G with no homepage rank than page 4 showing pr4 but in terms of backlinks I beleive pr is important, dont you?

Social networking site is a good tool for increasing PR . It is as effective as search engine as it brings traffic to your site.

I just tested it. When I first launched www.toppicturedating.com, I got it Google's first page listed for desired keyword very quickly by just having some links and page title. However, because Google loves fresh content and new members make new pages for Google to Index, I lost my positions on those.
This site PR was 2 before I started a new campaign using free internet directories and got around 300 new backlinks online with my desired keywords in anchor text.
The PR dropped to 1 (because most of those dircetories had PR0), but I'm again top listed with my desired keywords.

Your "new" pages didn't "replace" them, they just had been analysed and took up their natural position.

So your testing is flawed and basically you were making assumptions!

Well, Social Media sites like Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Hi5 or any other Social Media sites are very google friendly.They are very mychh optimized sites with high Google PR.So, if you keep posting link of site at the social media then there are very good chances that the link will also get some PR.
