I know that, but don't you think oogle should return the most relevant result, as it does to this one

where it returns 457,000 results

but it is 457,000 pages that contain the words in some combination or other and your page happens to score enough to be first.

this time there is 2.7 million pages returned.

The returned results for a simple unquoted collection of words aren't always what they seem.

Search engines don't do a simple boolean search for the words a user inputs, it's a complex process that tries to mimic natural language.
Google are getting closer to a natural language search engine but there is still some way to go.

But, it looks that the first position is the site that have the most part of the words and they are closed by each other, others contain the words.
"Oogly", is returning the most relevant result and it happen for any search you make.
It's obvious that, penalised sites can not reach the top; even if they have the most relevant result.

"penalised" sites/pages don't even APPEAR in the results!!!!

I also suggest to do a combination of the various off-page optimization and on-page optimization. SEO is not an exact science hence; you should add a lot of patience to your tactics. Also, keep in mind that your competitors are also striving hard to make it to the top of SERP.

Also, Backlinks dont mean squat to pagerank.

Ive got a site with a PR of 6 ( quite high compared to a LOT of other so calle professional sites )

On google webmaster tools, They have only 8 backlinks to the site.

The site ranks high for its keywords also.

Its a mixture of soooo many variables its unbelievable.

Write good content. Make sure its useful and google will rank and index you.

Backlinks are the ONLY thing that creates PR (Real and the imaginary Toolbar version)
