hello,
i want to optimizie an website for google. when i search now for the keywords it is not shown on the first page. this i will change.
i read something abeout seo and now dont know, which ideas are the best to ger results.

- keywords in the html code.
how often the keyword appeas in the html code, how the code describes the product,
using the <h> tag for headlines

- creating backlings on the page from
a) many sites
b) sites with high page rank
some companys with the same product are shown higher on the goolge search result
and i see that they have many more backlinks.

- optimizing the loading time
i read that sites who are load quick aber better ranked by google

- flat link-structure
so that you get with only one click to the product you search

i am grateful about every idea!

Forget about this. Optimise the pages for USERS!!!!

Totally WRONG

b) sites with high page rank
No toolbar PR is meaningless, turn OFF that stupid green bar and NEVER turn it on again.

- keywords in the html code.
not in the markup, but in the text

Nope, Once or twice may be sufficient.

Quote:
how the code describes the product,
If by this you mean well written content (not likely though) then Yes otherwise No!

Quote:
using the <h> tag for headlines
Not essential, but important IF you are considering users.

But as usual, the important things are completely missing from your thinking.

chris has answered most of them.

it is useful to have keywords in your image ALT tags, and TITLE tag

Keyword density plays a part but it should not be too high as to be spammy

Anchor text coming into your site on links is more imortant than saturating your site with keywords.

Chris i think it is newly added that page load speed is also now taken into account when in it come to ranking. Yet still do not know how far it is true but have been reading this on several forums and articles. Correct me if i am wrong

You are wrong - Consider yourself corrected.

It;s the usual bunch of crap from "experts" who took a comment from Matt Cutts about it might become a consideration IN THE FUTURE!!!!!!!!!!! and blew it to a proven fact.

Hi there

I dont think it would make sense to factor in site speed anyhow! as a lot of webmaster dont really have any control over this its down to people host, its not fair to penalise webmasters for something they really have no control over !

Speed will be considered as factor for rankings, sometimes is not a host matter what influences on speed..sometimes is bad coding or heavy images.

Here's a link to SEOmoz's ranking factors. It's an amalgamation of the opinions of dozens of SEOs. Even a consensus may be wrong but hey - if dozens of the top SEO's are all wrong and you're following their lead then at least you can rest assured that a lot of your competitors are probably making the same mistakes.

http://www.seomoz.org/article/search...anking-factors

This should at least help get you started thinking about the right things and asking the right questions.

Good luck !!!

Google and Yahoo have crawlers to find pages for their algorithmic search. The major difference I feel is that Yahoo has a paid submission service for crawling, however it does not guarantee ranking.
