Hi ..

one of my websites was PR3, two or three days back .. hundreds of indexed pages in the website were PR2 and PR1 ..

The domain wasn't dropped or something, I registered it since the beginning and built backlinks naturally (and the backlinks still there) ..

But two days ago it showed PR0 .. I didn't link to any website or asked someone to link to me since a while now ..

the SERP is ok, the traffic is the same, but the PR dropped ..

I can't figure it out .. any ideas ?

Some people said it will be the same again after a short period of time .. don't know if this is true ..

PS: the nature of my website make the PR important, so please no "the PR isn't important if your traffic still the same" ..

Will appreciate your help ..

And??

I agree w/ ChrisHirst... Toolbar PR is never important... It's always out of date... It's not used by Google to rank your URL...

Your rankings and traffic are MUCH better metrics from an SEO perspective.

I guess by now you have heard enough people tell you that pr is not important so I will not add to that. What I have seen is sometimes the toolbar will not show pr. When this happens I delete the temp files and that often solves the problem for me.

I think PR is still important even though it is not directly used to decide rank of your page for specific keywords. It is a overall general ranking. But if your PR is low, that means you do not have a large number of backlinks so for some specific keyword, it is not likely your ranking will be high (since the number of backlinks of your site for this keyword is low).

Thanks.

I understand your concerns about loosing PR.I very well know this PR is nothing compared to SERP and traffic but cannot adjust if I lost my blog's PR It is a status symbol actually.

About your question ,have you done any of the following things on your site...

1. Not updating the content as it was before ?

2. Change of niche..

As you said there is no change in backlink count and no link trade, the above questions are the next chances.

Don't be so worried about PR, it just a little tiny green tap. If your serp ok, income ok, amount of uiv is ok, then it is fine.

Thank you for answering ..
Actually no .. I'm updating the website in a regular basis .. and I didn't change the niche ..

Anyway, do you think that I'll get back this status symbol as you said in the next update? (propbably in April ..)

The others, stop spamming and answering without even reading the topic ..

First, the others aren't spamming, well some are, you asked a question about your site, but you neglect to let anyone see the site, so how is anyone supposed to answer the question?

Maybe your site is not useful to real people, maybe your so called "natural" link building came from bad places, maybe your site takes 30 seconds to load, maybe monkeys are flying out of my butt, etc....
