Im sure this has been answered before but I cant find an exact answer.

If I submit an article to Buzzle, Ezine etc. Can I publish the same article on my website or will it be seen as duplicate content and just not get indexed.

Also I published an article to Buzzle which was indexed and had around 280 page views I checked the other day it had lost its cache when I searched for some content in the article I found it on someone elses site word for word they had even left my link in it, yet this copy was indexed and the original on buzzle wasn't how can this be as I thought google indexed the original and ignores the rest which takes me back to my first question.

Nope! Search engines will index the original and all the copies, but as they neither know nor care which was the "original", the one that is shown in the results is the one that their algo has determined is the most "important" which probably isn't going to be the one on your site.

You you'll post in your website, don't submit it for article directory purpose. You'll loose the uniqueness of your content.

Unfortunately this will be seen as duplicate and highly unlikely that ezine will accept it. Though it is very easy to spin your article as there is no research needed, just re word it all.

It depend on what you want to achieve if you are targeting SEO you can rewrite/spin the articles on article directories and include a link to the one on your site (pay attention if it's indexed or not)
If you are making the articles on article directories your landing pages (you are also getting the SEO value here so it's better) you need to pay attention to the content and write them in a unique way every time
I hope that was helpful

But before you submit it to other article directory rewrite it first even just a small amount of the article to eliminate the idea of duplication.

In fact, search engines can not detect the originality of the article.

They will judge and choose what they consider as the best articles and index.

The rest that are duplicate will just be ignored.

Yes but the point I was making was that my article had been copied word for word and mine (the original) had been de-indexed, yet since I started this thread my article is once again indexed in G as well as the copy. Which would indicate G doesnt care which is the original

Well, it i snot likely that you will be able to get your articles indexed.

Usually, you will be rejected when submitting the same articles. And sure it is a kind of duplicate content.

Article should first be posted on your website then it can be posted on various other sites. It increases its presence on google.
