For those who worry about page rank (and I've seen so many ppl in all forums that are concerned) - this has been put to bed a long time ago. But if you want proof - here it is:

For SEO purposes, yes, PR doesn't matter...but if you want to sell ads on your site, you have the possibility to get more money if you have high PR

I think of pagerank as a long term goal that comes with building a solid reputation over time.

Page rank is always improtant. The higher your pr, the more chances you will get to recieve some profits, or just to increase the traffic and the number of visitors.

CORRECT
SGB PR should NOT be an end in itself, it is simply an effect that increases with long term promotion.
The SGB display has no value in itself, it is merely an out of date, innaccurate representation of the REAL PageRank the Google use internally.

The last banner ad I sold (last month) on one of my sites all the advertiser cared about was my traffic, they never asked PR or Alexa ranks, or any other metric, only traffic....

Hi, I think PR still matters these days although it is not that important as before. A higher PR helps to increase the authority of your site.
Page Rank is a good indicator of a site’s online value as seen by Google.
Using PageRank as a measurement of a website’s popularity in the search engines still makes sense, and if a site has high PageRank it will likely to help your rankings if it links to you.
So you can't just ignore this aspect because of its decline in importance.

Although page rank isn't extremely important some consider it a building foundation when it comes to advertisement and buying sites. So no SEO wise its not important but you want to make money when it comes to selling ads and the site in general a better pr would increase the amount.

Hi all,
I am wondering if Pagerank's ranking of website is affected by website's ranking on Google SERs?

Page rank tells about the status and status is required for every sites. A site with good page rank has a good value than a site which is having a page rank of 0. Page rank has it's own importance.

You all need to read this over and over and over again UNTIL you understand it!
The SGB PR is NOT the same value that Google talk about or use.

Exactly. Sites with high PR (which are also usually "trusted" sites) get spidered much more quickly and more thoroughly, and links on such pages have much more value.
...but the value of the pagerank on G's toolbar is obviously not very accurate, and only indicative.

Also it is worth bearing in mind that Pagerank is a floating point number and is just rounded up to the nearest integer in the PR toolbar.

And of course worth noting that the sum of ALL PageRanks is 1

Eh, another wrong answer. I have PR2 sites that get several hundred dollars for a single ad, for one month. That PR2 site gets over 200k views a month though. (another signal to you PR worshipers that PR doesn't really mean much anymore)
Advertisers don't even ask about PR or Alexa anymore. All they want to know is how many impressions they can get.
