yes, i heared that google is considering the speed also.

It's no big news, actually even before it became official. Every forum and blog I go to has to make a post on several weeks ago, and yet these post still come up.

I read that speed has always been considered a rank factor. I remember reading back in 2001 that you should keep every .html page under 15K, so that google would index your pages faster. Back in the day! Now file sizes are bigger, but google still wants improve the web. To evolve to a more user friendly, easy to access and navigate informational guide.

I am glad that google has done this, because now webmasters will be forced to reconsider much of their work, and think about the users a little more .

It was a matter of time to start "mattering". I mean, human visitors do not like slow websites, so that Google, it is natural.

It ONLY accounts for ~1% of the total ranking metric.

So it REALLLLY isnt much to worry about .

This is the FIRST time in TWELVE years that Google have "announced" a factor (signal) in "ranking". So why should anybody treat such a vague metric as serious!

I am paying attention here because it comes from Google. It has been my experience that listening to Google is a very good thing to do. So if you don't think its important that's ok by me.

Yes.. It is official now, but still Google will give less value to speed and it has also not fixed any standard parameter for this.

yes speed matters according to new generation of Google i-e Google Caffeine.

well, it is good that it is announced by Google itself, so that there will be no doubts that it is not only a myth.

I bet that none of you will believe Google the next they state that toolbar PR is for "entertainment only"

page rank isn't even entertaining so I doubt they will ever bother to even mention it ever again as it was such a faulted idea in the first place.

Ahh missed the stress on the tool bar, it never worked properly so I never bothered using it anyway, think I installed it 2 times for about a month each time and just gave up on it.

For sites like mine this is very bad, i have many iframe ads that causes slowness :s
