You have to work hard for it. Getting first page is also depends on your keyword. If your selected keyword is popular you have to work hard. Well the best trick to get 1st position is to submit your site in high PR sites.

Everybody likes to have their own websites running on the first page of Google but this is not going to be an easy task. SEO is a long term process and nowadays even some high PR sites might not be found at the top. Relevancy of the links and their strength is not just judged by their PageRank and no wonder a lot of low PR sites could be found at the top of Google while many high PR competitors may be behind.

1st page position is depends on your selected keyword popularity. If your keyword is popular so it will take time and more efforts. Best way is to submit your site in good PR sites for better result.

maybe true, it is easier to rank high for a low competition keyword but still needs to do proper SEO... But you can't get enough money for a low competition keyword.
