actually NO. PR doesnt effect the position of website in search engine. the position of a site in a search engine basically is influenced by the quality of ur content and the number of quality backlinks that you have.

PR of a site and position of a site in search engine is completely different thing. Position in search engine is based on keyword, your site may be at top position on your main keyword or other keyword while PR is based on quantity and quality of backlinks.
