Hi,
Been on SEO for some time now and would like to know which is more important. A sites PR or the SERP? can one get a high SERP without a very good PR ?

Serps is only really relevant to particular keyword searches. Take an example. If you do a Google search for "inflatable sheep", you will see that PR doesn't count much. www.whitehouse.gov with a PR of 10 comes nowhere, but www.inflatablesheep4u.com with no PR comes on the first page of results.

page rank is a meaningless, worthless, useless way to rank your website, bit like using alexa to check on your stats and ranking, although alexa is slightly more usefull than page rank but neither are worth taking any notice of at all.

I absolutely and totally agree with the post above.
It's useless focusing on pr. It's not helpful and it's irrelevant.
With useful, fresh content and relevant links pointing to your site, the traffic will increase, just like the ranking in serps.
Focusing on pr is definitely a waste of time.
