What is the link limit on a single page? I have different products on different categories. I have all these products on one single page. This has lead to more than 250 links. Do you think major search engines like Google will consider it? To the best of my knowledge, Google only views about 70 to 80 links on a single page. I hope I am not mistaken. Do you think I should fragment my 250 products on various pages? I don’t really know what to do. Any inputs/ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a ton in advance.

There have been numerous times when Matt Cutts of google commented on the number of links on the page. You reach a point where the user experience is cluttered, and the search engine has no idea which products are your top sellers, or which products you want to highlight. This can be an issue especially when there are lots of other sites with similar products. I would instead focus your pagerank and internal links to places you want to compete first. Once successful, expand your reach. You can still have 250 products, but you can have a strategy for how you link to them that is smarter. If you have a typical shopping cart with product categories, etc, I have written a little bit on pagerank sculpting. This is a serious problem that affects many sites. If you are wondering why you don't have internal pagerank on your product pages, looking at the number of links you have is something you might want to consider carefully. Last word of warning, don't use nofollow tags on internal links. It's a waste of pagerank juice.

Do people still do that? I can think of better ways to waste my time.

There are 175 links on this page currently (not counting this post)

And the "home" page of this forum has 312 links.

If you actually OBSERVE the things around you, you don't need to be reading "articles" by self styled "experts"

There is absolutely no limits on the number of links that can exist on a page. But it should be noted that the more links you have, the less "link juice" that gets passed out on each link.

Google used to recommend that you limit your links-per-page to around 100. This was because long ago, Google's crawler would only return the first 100K of a web page and they found that about 100 links was what was included in that first 100K of HTML on average.

But Google will now index pages that are huge with MANY links... hundreds... a thousand or more. From an SEO perspective, it is still a good idea to try to limit the number of links per pages so that you maximize the "juice" passed out on those links.

There is no limit but its not good if you have a lot of links in a page of your website. I think about 50 links is good and more than is not very good and maybe hurt you.

Well actually limiting your link in one page will only make the page more attractive to readers but with the crawlers see it just the same.

If you create a lot of link.The importancewill become very low.

^if google only viewed 70 to 80 links how can the importance of other links only be "very low", you first state what is in your mind to be a fact in that google will only view 70 to 80 links, it therefore follows they will not view anymore than this, do you see your flawed thinking on this subject?

Absolutely nothing to do "superiority" the "100 links" it was a common sense limit AT THE TIME and that was some twelve - fifteen years ago, when web design and designers were in their infancy.

You have to remember that at that time monitors were 13" or 15", screen resolutions were minuscule by todays standards.
The very best was 1024x768 and most users were running 640x480 and 800x600 in 256 colours
Javascript and CSS collapsing menus were non-existent, so 100 VISIBLE links was a sensible limit to have on a page to avoid confusing users.

In NEVER was a limit set by Google for Google, it was a recommendation to designers not to get carried away and pack the page(s) with links.

As I pointed out earlier in this thread there are 312 links on the home page of this forum.
