I must really be missing something with PR, four months on a fresh website to me seems almost impossible, yet I hear so many people speaking as though they actualy know how to do it.

In theory I guess a few awesome back links from places like DMOZ would do it, but most websites would be in the Google sandbox for at least 6 months I would figure.

The OP was asking about PageRank, not traffic, traffic is nothing to do with PageRank, PR is about inbound links.

You have to work on getting quality and related backlinks towards your website. Do first on page and then do off page optimization.

concentrate on traffic brother...and SERP...PR is not so important as you can get it by building lots of backlinks for your site..
