I myself never look at PR unless I'm trading links with someone..

I usualy check before I read anything if I don't know the website. I kind of like it for somethings. I like to get my news from established websites.

In my opinion they should improve the system and post it with the search results.

Page Rank and Site Appearance are the 2 things I'm looking at in trading links.

Of course that's an other factor

And there are more, however those depend on the niche of the site.
