Hi Forum
During the last week I have been doing this:
1) I write a few articles each day,
2) I post them to 22 forums of varying prominence
I realize, of course, that no results can be gained in just one week, my question is rather: in the medium-term, say 3 months, is this likely to yield me a better spot on Google?
What are your views?
Has it worked for you? Has it gotten you further up on googles search listings?
Much obliged,
Christopher

If you are creating good article then why you are submitting them on to the forum. Just make them more brief and then submit them on to the Article directories. There are many article directories availabe on the internet which has great Page Rank and lots of traffic like Ezinearticles Garticle and sooperarticle. If you submit your article here with your website link then it will be baneficial for your website to get ranking faster in SERPs.

Why would giving away your work for all and sundry to reuse move you "up on Google search listings"??????

I don't expect that specifically the process of giving away my work will, but rather the links to my website that is a byproduct of having people post my articles might,
or are links to a website, with relevant anchor text, from a page which also contain those relevant keywords, not something that will in googles eyes makes your site more noteworthy?
cheers,

I think you're wasting your time. You might get, what, 2 links from each article you write. 2 links hidden deep in a website with 100s of 1000s of other articles.
Why not put the articles on your site, then spread the word with press releases?

I don't think so, article submission has its own importance in link building.

It's a lot of effort for a very poor link tho. I've done it myself in the past, and it's probably the least efficient link building method out there.
Better to improve the content on your site than give your content to someone else for a link or two.

I post my articles on around 20 sites each time I do it. I takes me around 90 minutes to write and research the 650 words and then another 90 to post them on the article sites.
20 * 1 * 2 = 40 links for each article = 13 links per hour

Instead of posting your article to 500+ directories, I will recommend getting it in 20-30 quality article directories. I do my article submissions via wesubmitarticles.com with their package C

i dont understand why and how you are submitting your "articles" to forums? you can submit to article directories or may be blogs but how to forums...i dont think you can gain anything from this except that you will be banned at some time from these forums..

You are over working on things out. Why don't you just put those article on your site. It'll benefit you site much more than giving it away to some article directories.

I don't think there will be an accurate answer to this question. Only if you are Google, Bing or Yahoo, you would know.
In my opinion everything helps and there should be a good balance of everything. Forums, Articles, Social media etc etc.
The main thing is, if you build useful content and submit it via, articles, blogs or forums, you will see traffic and naturally developed backlinks.
