Hey guys n' gals. Recently I just redid my company website and it looks great,everything is in place. I have pretty much finished SEO for nowl, my PR is 4.

I am trying to figure out how my competitors manage to get 6,000+ links. These are small, in some cases one man businesses. When i look for their links i find some very strange things. One in particular is that every page that comes up when i try

i see the same 6-7 things on every page, its a forum but its only ever one page, all the same. Its like google indexed 5000 PHP querys..
i need to improve my position on many of my keywords, and one thing i know i need to do is get more links pointed to my site. Hopefully many of these links can come from sites with good PR, but does anyone have advice on getting more links on large scale without being unethical or hiring companies that will use unethical BS.

I suppose im just looking for ways to get alot of links from sites with decent/good PR without doing anything unethical, thats very important to me.

Content is king. The more content you have the more reasons people will have to link to you. It really is as simple as that.

You can, it just takes time. If you had 5000+ articles I bet within a year you would have more links than you think.

I would have to see the actual results of the google link query.

As mentioned, content is important...if you have content people will naturally link to you.

Friends are also important, they are pretty much garunteed to hook you up if you're looking for some links.

Paying is your last option, alot of people pay to have their site linked to, some for advertising reasons and some for SEO reasons.

Good idea. You could also add some "FREE" web design tools to your site to attract repeat visitors. This will inspire them and others to link to your site, as well as add some quality pages. I've got a ton of tools on SearchBliss , some are free to download and some are cheap to buy (unbranded). You can get 31 web design tools for less then $5 each with the "Full Package Deal". Again, some are free and there is a lot of free webmaster related content as well.

Many people have so many back links, because they exchange their links with forums, boards and sites with over 1000 in index

But linkpopularity is not so effective as domainpopularity

Google found about 600 more backlinks of mine and still isnt done.. hopefully I'll have around 9,000 in 1 year.. I have a strat

i see 544.. and theyre all correct I checked them.. they all link to my website.. thats way ddown from the other day though..wtf

I get 544 as well, you need to remove the space between "link" and your address. Otherwise your searching for the keywords "link" and "www.customtailoredsolutions.com"

That is just odd. I wonder why I am getting 19 for that same search that you all get 544 for. All the searches posted show me 19.

I know my google ad-words dont show up in other countries.. only USA but im sure my links are worldwide...

I have no idea why you would see that.. very strange
