Yes ,I think it is still important,If your site pr is 0 ,other webmaster doesn't like to exchange links with you.

PR,It's all about how much your links has quality, relevancy and authentic content which can be plus point for your site as well the visitors . Based one these parameters definitely you can derive traffic as well as the PR position is also boost in meanwhile.

Yes I still believe in PR. I would to ask some questions here,

1. As a SEO personnel from which site do you like to have your backlink PR1 or PR 6? - PR 6
2. As a user for which site do you suggest for? - PR 6

The above questions clearly shows that the PR is still in demand

I think it is still important when deciding which sites to seek links from. Generally you want to be looking at site that are equal or greater than your own site.

PR rank of the site does help only to get your site indexed and increased on your search results. However I have heard that some have get at the top in the Google for just one or two keywords.

of course , you need make some focus on it for it can show your seo results in some way , but this is not the only factor . you know some sites with low pr , but high flowing.
